Sandeep Jhunjhunwala

Sandeep currently leads the Corporate and M&A tax practices of Nangia Andersen in Bengaluru, India and the Emerging Laws practice of the firm. He co-leads corridor relationships and represents India working with Andersen’s technology and real estate teams. He has spent more than 18 years working with Big 4 firms in their tax and regulatory practices.

Sandeep specializes in the areas of corporate international tax with expertise in strategic transaction advisory, cross-border tax structuring, capital market transactions, and tax and regulatory controversy management. He also works closely with regulators and policy formulators, in providing inputs to aid in the development of new regulations and policies, and in assessing their efficacy. He has worked on a number of leading multi-national companies in information technology, communication, real estate, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and emerging sectors such as e-commerce, crypto, AI, online gaming, edtech, fintech, etc., and has been extensively involved in advisory, compliance support, planning opportunities and litigation support on tax and regulatory matters. He has extensively engaged with various private equity, venture capital, and angel investment funds on complex transactional and regulatory matters.

Sandeep has been an eminent speaker and panelist on tax and regulatory matters at various industry forums. He has an extensive portfolio of published thought leadership, technical articles, and podcasts on taxation, policies, and financial regulations, available online under own byline. He has been featured on national television news channels for discussions on tax related topics and has been a faculty in taxation for various universities and institutions. He has demonstrated adept advocacy through successful representation in contentious proceedings before appellate tribunals on tax and exchange control matters. Sandeep has also authored a book on Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, titled Decoding RERA.
