Kelly Ackel Crug is a Managing Director in the Valuation practice. Kelly has experience with the valuation of closely held businesses, business interests, intangible assets, derivatives (including stock options and option-embedded securities), intellectual property, and debt instruments. These engagements were conducted for a variety of purposes, including tax planning and reporting, financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions, litigation support, and strategic planning.
Services provided on recent engagements include:
- Common stock valuations for tax planning and financial reporting to comply with Section 409A of the Internal Revenue Code and FASB ASC Topic 718 regulations
- Valuations related to tax planning and compliance, including appraisals performed for estate and gift tax reporting, and domestic and international tax planning (including ownership/control changes)
- Valuation of stock options and complex option-embedded securities
- Purchase price allocations and impairment analyses related to FASB ASC Topics 805, 350, and 360, including preparation of responses related to comments from auditors
- Valuation of carried and capital interests related to private equity and venture capital interests
- Financial analysis to assist with business planning and acquisitions
- Review of valuation analyses performed by other appraisal firms for dispute and litigation purposes
Kelly previously worked in the Economic Consulting Services group at KPMG, where she also performed valuation analyses. After KPMG, she was a member of the valuation team at Huron Consulting Group. Kelly holds the Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA-BV) designation.
