Andersen welcomes an additional team in Barcelona with the incorporation of CHR Legal, a multidisciplinary firm that expands the firm's capabilities in tax, corporate and litigation.

With this incorporation, four partners join the firm, including founders María Jesús Hernández and Juan Roda, as well as José Ignacio Parellada, a partner in the Corporate and M&A practice, who will work as part of the firm's national practice.

This incorporation is in line with one of the objectives of Andersen's 2021-2023 Strategic Plan, which envisages the firm's growth in Iberia, specifically in Barcelona, and will allow the development of the firm and the brand in such an important market as Catalonia.

The co-managing partners of Andersen in Spain, José Vicente Morote and Íñigo Rodríguez-Sastre, commented "CHR Legal shares our business vision and our values of stewardship, seamless and transparency. Together we will continue to bring best-in-class service value-add solutions to our clients."

"Catalonia is a crucial autonomy in the Spanish and international economy and for this reason our firm plans to continue to expand its practices and capabilities with additional teams to enhance and broaden our range of services", emphasised Morote and Rodríguez-Sastre.

They pointed out that this approach is included in the firm's Strategic Plan, "designed for three years and which has reached a high level of accomplishment during the first year of implementation."

"We have been involved in several of the most important corporate transactions in the legal sector in Spain this year with the firm objective of continuing our expansion plan and positioning ourselves among the top 10 law firms operating in Spain in the short term," said the co-managing partners of Andersen in Spain.

The new Andersen partner María Jesús Hernández holds a degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid and a triple master's degree in International Public Law, Criminology and Procedural Law from the Complutense University. She has more than 20 years of experience, of which 14 years as a judge in the Canary Islands and later, as a lawyer, more than four years as an expert in economic criminal law and corporate compliance programmes for companies. Before founding CHR Legal, she was head of the Criminal Law department at Ontier and Compliance at RCD.

Also joining the firm as a partner is Juan Roda, who holds a degree in Law from the San Pablo-CEU University in Madrid, a master's degree in European Law from the same university and a master's degree in Taxation and Tax Consultancy from the Centro de Estudios Financieros in Madrid. During his more than 15 years of professional experience, he has specialised in international taxation, corporate restructuring and tax procedures and has worked, among others, at EY and Roca Junyent.

Additionally, Juan Ignacio Parellada, who has more than 25 years of experience in corporate, M&A, family business and high net worth individuals, joins the firm. Parellada holds a law degree from the National Distance Education University, a master's degree in taxation and corporate governance from Abad Oliva-CEU and an LLM in Business Law from the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom. During his professional career, he worked at KPMG, he was the director of the Ramón y Cajal Barcelona office for 10 years and, later, the director of the Corporate area of PwC in Barcelona.
