Hamdy Yahia is a seasoned tax professional with over 20 years of experience in tax, audit, and strategic planning. A Chartered Accountant since 2002, Hamdy is a fellow of the most prestigious professional societies in Egypt. He specializes in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), international taxation, and has in-depth expertise in Egyptian tax laws.

Throughout his career, Hamdy has excelled in managing cross-border transactions and tax planning strategies, delivering significant value to multinational companies by reducing their tax burdens. As the leader of a team of tax professionals at Andersen in Egypt, he provides comprehensive tax services to major clients across a variety of industries.

Before joining Andersen in Egypt, Hamdy spent more than 13 years at PwC, where he gained extensive experience in both tax compliance and advisory services. Additionally, Hamdy served on the Tax Appeal Committee within the Ministry of Finance, further enhancing his regulatory expertise. His client portfolio includes organizations from diverse sectors, such as renewable energy, oil and gas, banking and financial institutions, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, construction, shipping, hospitality, and telecommunications. Hamdy has advised these clients on statutory obligations, relevant tax legislation, currency control, and withholding tax planning.

Hamdy’s expertise includes damage assessment and quantification, along with conducting comprehensive due diligence evaluations. His extensive background features leading tax due diligence and restructuring projects throughout the MENA region, with a particular emphasis on tax compliance.

Hamdy's transition to Andersen in Egypt followed a distinguished career as a tax director at PwC, where he played a key role in bridging tax compliance and advisory services. Additionally, he was a member of PwC's Center of Excellence for Business Modeling in the MENA region.
