Throughout his career, Doug has leveraged his technical focus on the growing complexity of global taxes, becoming a trusted business advisor to his clients. From technology start-ups to owner/operators to SEC registrants, Doug’s diverse client base illustrates how firms big and small, across nearly all industries, are impacted by cross-border taxes.
Specific areas of Doug’s international tax focus include:
- Strategic planning for entry into and exit from foreign markets;
- Cross-border business expansion and realignment through M&A activity;
- Direct tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing impacts and opportunities associated with global supply chains;
- Global tax planning associated with the development and use of intellectual property;
- Tax-sensitive global treasury management and earnings repatriation;
- Global tax and transfer pricing data, documentation, and compliance requirements; and
- Advanced technologies to better understand global tax opportunities and manage risk.
Before joining Andersen, Doug was the National Managing Partner of Grant Thornton’s combined International Tax Services and Transfer Pricing practice and a member of Grant Thornton’s Global Transfer Pricing leadership team. He is a frequent author and speaker including working with TEI, RIA, IFA, and the University of North Carolina.
