With over 30 years of experience in public practice, Aaron has developed a broad skill set across multiple disciplines. Starting as an auditor, he gained early insights into the accounting profession. Seeking adventure and growth, Aaron moved to London, where he worked as financial controller for an asset management and fund management company, contributing to its FTSE100 listing.
Upon returning to New Zealand, Aaron joined a medium-sized firm in a business advisory role, where he met Matt Bellingham. Sharing a vision to redefine accounting by providing meaningful client engagement and impactful advisory, Aaron and Matt co-founded Bellingham Wallace in 2012. Together, they established a firm focused on delivering innovative solutions to medium and large businesses.
Aaron now leads Andersen in New Zealand’s business advisory and the New Zealand IFRS division, and heads the business valuation practice, offering expertise in valuations for both family and high courts. Known for his practical, commercially driven approach, Aaron sits on numerous boards and advisory boards in sectors including professional services, construction, logistics, and warehousing.
Passionate about the outdoors, Aaron enjoys time on his boat exploring the Hauraki Gulf, Coromandel, and Bay of Islands scuba diving and fishing with his wife Annabelle, their two sons, and their dog, Elvis.
Aaron served on the External Reporting Advisory Panel (XRAP) for seven years and has held governance roles with Royal New Zealand Coastguard (Vice President) and the New Zealand Foundation for the Blind (Chairman).
