Tom Herr

Tom Herr, Jr. is a Managing Director in the Private Client Services tax practice in Chicago. Tom has over 12 years of experience providing comprehensive tax planning services to ultra wealthy families and their related entities including businesses, investment partnerships, trusts, and charitable vehicles.

Tom’s clients primarily include multigenerational family offices, principals and owners of alternative asset management funds, owners/operators of private operating businesses, and other high net worth individuals who have experienced a liquidity event. 

His specializations include:

• Personal income tax planning
• Multi-generational gift and estate tax planning
• Family office structuring, including incentive compensation structuring
• Section 1202 QSBS review and documentation
• Preparation of complex tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, corporations, and foundations

Before joining Andersen, Tom worked at two middle-market investment banks in Chicago.
