Lateef Surakatu

Lateef Surakatu is a partner and Head of business advisory services at Andersen (Nigeria) and the practice leader for accounting services line of business for Andersen across the Africa region. Lateef has over 17 years of extensive experience in leading/managing various projects in institutional transformation, sector and organizational reforms, finance strategy formulation, finance function transformation & redesign, and blueprint development & implementation. He has assisted various industries ranging from non-profit, telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing, oil & gas, and public sectors; especially providing reform advisory services to state institutions.

Before joining Andersen, he was an associate director in the advisory practice of one of the Big Four firms, where he led many large finance function transformation and implementation projects in key sectors of our economy. He was the project manager for the financial reporting transformation project for a national oil company and its 23 subsidiaries, where he assisted the company in clearing the backlog of its six-year audit. A major feat that has put the company on the right track for a sound and reliable financial reporting process.
