Roland Saldanha is a managing director at Andersen Consulting in Brazil and a highly respected international economist with over 27 years of experience. He has served as a professor of law and economics, as well as industrial economics, at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP), where he has twice been the head of the economics department. In his consulting role, he advises stakeholders across the supply chain, including producers, importers, and exporters, on foreign trade and industrial economy matters. Roland also leads teams in securing favorable outcomes in trade defense cases, arbitrations, and antitrust issues, improving market access and reducing trade barriers.

With over 18 years of experience as chief economist and team leader in antidumping and antitrust proceedings, Roland has contributed significantly to trade law in Brazil and other Mercosur countries. Since 2004, he has played a key role in developing the Natural Gas Regulatory Framework for the Brazilian Glassware Association (ABIVIDRO) and the São Paulo Federation of Industries (FIESP), enhancing industry regulations and trade policies.

A sought-after speaker and lecturer, Roland has been invited by multinationals, chambers of commerce, and media outlets to speak on topics such as international trade, regulatory barriers, economic forecasts, regional integration, and the WTO system.
