Nicolas Rondeau is a partner in the indirect tax practice at Andersen in Canada with more than 22 years of experience advising on complex commodity tax matters in Canada and internationally. His practice focuses on VAT/GST, QST, HST, provincial sales taxes, excise and fuel taxes, as well as customs and cross-border supply chain structuring. He regularly advises multinational enterprises, private equity groups, and growing businesses on mergers and acquisitions, international expansions, tax controversy, governance, and indirect tax risk management.
Prior to joining Andersen, Nicolas served as Director, Global Indirect Tax for a Fortune 500 multinational retailer, where he led indirect tax strategy and governance across North America and Europe, supporting large-scale transactions and delivering significant tax efficiencies. He previously held senior leadership roles within a Big Four firm in Canada, where he developed a recognized practice advising multinational groups on high-value indirect tax planning, transformation initiatives and controversy matters.
Fully bilingual in English and French, Nicolas is a frequent speaker at leading tax conferences, including the APFF Annual Symposium and the Council On State Taxation (COST). He has authored numerous technical publications for the CCH Commodity Tax Bulletin and has specialized in commodity taxes since 2004.
