Francisco Puertas is a managing director at Andersen Consulting in Spain with more than 25 years of experience across multinational consulting, corporate banking, boutique advisory firms, entrepreneurship, and high-growth fintech.
He began his career at Banco Santander in the Corporate Banking division, managing relationships with large corporate clients and gaining a deep understanding of financial operations. He then moved to Development Systems, a specialized consulting firm in commercial effectiveness, leadership, and HR development, where he served as country manager in Portugal and helped companies align people, culture, and business strategy.
In 2000, Francisco joined Accenture, where he spent nearly two decades, including 15 years as a partner in Accenture Strategy. He led the Talent & Organization practice for Spain and Portugal, delivering large-scale transformation programs focused on people, performance, and change across industries such as banking, insurance, products, energy, and sports. He shaped talent strategies and built high-impact teams for leading organizations.
In 2019, he launched an entrepreneurial project by acquiring and managing AD Mérida, a historic Spanish football club. He restructured the club and secured two consecutive promotions, turning it into a benchmark for professionalized and efficient sports management. In 2021, he became president of Hastee España & Portugal, a fintech specializing in earned wage access and employee financial wellbeing. Over four years, he drove growth and market positioning, culminating in the company’s acquisition by Zellis, a UK-based multinational, in June 2025.
Francisco also teaches human capital and people analytics at several universities and contributes regularly to human resources publications and executive forums.
