Peter Elek

Peter Elek is a managing director in Andersen’s State and Local Tax (SALT) practice and a SALT leader within the Metro DC market. He brings over 16 years of experience in state and local tax and specializes primarily in state income/franchise tax consulting and compliance. He also has extensive experience in sales and use tax, employment tax, and credits and incentives.

Peter serves clients ranging from high-net-worth individuals to privately held and multinational Fortune 100 companies. His clients come from industries within the technology, government contracting, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, retail, education, internet commerce, and service sectors. Peter provides his clients with comprehensive tax advice in many aspects of state and local taxation, including, but not limited to, state nexus issues, state filing requirements, state apportionment methodologies, state tax planning, state provisions, state audit defense, and voluntary disclosure agreements. With his primary goal being the welfare of his clients, he continuously looks for opportunities relating to business and tax efficiencies for his clients.

Before joining Andersen, Peter spent 10 years in PwC’s state and local tax practice in Philadelphia and McLean as a director and over 2 years in RSM’s state and local tax practice in McLean and Baltimore as a senior manager.
