Mike Hough is the Office Managing Director of Andersen’s Boston office. With more than 25 years of tax advisory experience, Mike brings an integrated approach to personal and business tax planning, helping founders, executives, and families align their tax, wealth, and business objectives. He advises clients through complex liquidity events, including the sale of closely held companies, and designs tax-efficient strategies for equity compensation, wealth transfer, and philanthropy.
Mike works extensively with family offices and high-net-worth families to develop governance frameworks, organizational structures, and tax strategies that enhance wealth preservation, operational efficiency, and continuity across generations. He also helps clients proactively manage annual tax obligations and cash flow planning to support informed financial decision-making.
A recognized advisor in the Qualified Small Business Stock (QSBS) arena, Mike counsels entrepreneurs and investors throughout the entire business lifecycle—from entity formation and capital raising through growth, exit transactions, and post-sale planning.
