Neelu is a former Indian Air Force officer commissioned in 1993 and was part of the initial batch of women officers. She was a Wing Commander and has 15 years of experience heading various squadrons as a Supply Officer with the primary job of preventing AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situation.
Her primary job for these 15 years entailed warehousing, inventory control, procurement and acquisition. She has worked on various national and international projects with companies as well as various small and medium enterprises in India and the globe.
Most recently, she was the President of Honeywell Business in India, handling more than USD $300 million of direct sales and engineering. Her strength lies in the Indian defense acquisition procedure and working with the Indian Government, both at the center and state level in the aviation and defense industry. She has assisted various small and medium companies in strategizing step-change growth by handholding them through the process of becoming suppliers to global OEMs.
Currently, Neelu heads the government consulting practice of the firm engaging in various matters such as aviation, airports, defense, security and space.
Neelu has written and published many media articles and thought leadership documents on the subject of defense procurement and offset policy in India. She is an avid influencer for diversity professionals on how to break glass ceilings or maintain a work-life balance. She also mentors various young women from many organizations and entrepreneurs of small/start-up companies in India.
