Kabiito Karamagi is a partner at Ligomarc Advocates and a Uganda-based legal professional with over two decades of experience in corporate insolvency, business restructuring, liquidation, commercial litigation, financial sector regulation, and public sector governance. He is a seasoned insolvency practitioner and commercial litigator, recognised for advising on complex corporate failures, high-value enforcement mandates, institutional restructuring, regulatory disputes and public sector reform. His practice is anchored in insolvency, restructuring and special situations advisory. He has extensive experience advising on corporate rescue, receivership, administration, liquidation, secured creditor enforcement and distressed business restructuring, often in situations involving significant creditor exposure, regulatory scrutiny, public interest considerations and complex stakeholder interests. His work requires not only legal strategy, but also governance discipline, stakeholder management, communications sensitivity and practical implementation support to stabilise institutions and protect value. Kabiito has played a significant role in the development of Uganda’s commercial and insolvency law framework. He has participated in the development of key commercial legislation, including Uganda’s insolvency law, companies law, the law establishing the National Information Technology Authority of Uganda, and the Partnership Act.
