José Vicente Morote

José Vicente Morote is a Partner of Andersen and Co-Managing Partner of the firm in Spain, as well as head of the public and regulatory law practice in the Madrid, Valencia and Seville offices. He is the European Legal Coordinator of Andersen Global as well as member of the Global Board of the firm. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Andersen Tax & Legal Iberia S.L.P.

Prior to that, he was Partner at Olleros Abogados, responsible for the public and regulatory department, and Managing Partner of LexUrban Abogados & Urbanistas, part of LexCorporate Abogados, providing advice on administrative, urban and real estate law issues. Before this, he was an associate at the public law practice of J&A Garrigues.

José Vicente has advised a number of public agencies on administrative law issues since 1995. He has PhD of Law from the University of Bologna. He was appointed Dean of the Law at Universidad Católica de Valencia, San Vicente Mártir, from 2007 to 2014. He is a public servant specializing in administrative issues at local authority (on special leave).

He was a professor in several courses and conferences in universities and institutions. He has published several books on administrative law issues, such as Las Circulares normativas de la Administración Pública, Editorial Tirant Lo Blanch and Comentarios a la Ley Reguladora de las Bases de Régimen Local, Civitas Thomson. He has also written a number of articles and taken part in the drafting of codes, compilations, translations and recessions. Furthermore, he has directed a number of postgraduate theses (PhD) and academic works.

José has been ranked as Lawyer Of The Year in Administrative Law in 2015 and 2017, and in Real Estate in 2016 in the Best Lawyers guide. He is also listed in Best Lawyers for environmental law, land use, zoning law and real estate law. Under his direction, Public Law Area has been recommended by The Legal 500 guide since 2017.
