John Griffin has over 13 years of experience providing consulting and tax compliance services for the Alternative Investment Funds practice at Andersen. During his career, John has provided consulting services related to investment fund structure and tax optimization, managed numerous engagements in the venture capital, private equity, and fund of fund areas, consulted on choice of entity considerations, and provided consulting and compliance expertise related to foreign investments and related tax reporting.
He has experience analyzing PFIC status of foreign companies, making QSBS determinations, analyzing tax ramifications on portfolio company mergers and acquisitions, and performing a variety of complicated carried interest calculations.
