Jan Armstrong joined the Seattle office of Andersen as a Director in August 2008. Prior to joining Andersen, Jan was an Executive Director with another national firm. She has over 25 years of tax experience with KPMG, Grant Thornton and three local public accounting firms.
Jan has provided tax consulting and compliance services to a broad range of clients, from small closely held businesses and high net worth individuals to large publicly traded corporations. She has focused on pass through entities, closely-held corporations and their respective owners.
Jan’s experience includes:
- Partnership, limited liability companies and S corporation review and analysis of operating agreements, including special allocations, transfers, liquidations and passive activity considerations
- Real estate acquisitions, development, operations, ownership alternatives and dispositions, including like-kind exchanges
- Corporate earnings and profit studies
- “382 studies” of potential limitations of corporate net operating loss carry-forwards due to ownership changes
- Internal Revenue Service representation
