Ellen Harles, the Co-Office Managing Director for the Philadelphia office, brings over 35 years of experience advising public business entities and private clients across industries such as manufacturing, technology, investment management, record keeping, and fulfillment.
She focuses on accounting for income taxes, with expertise in financial statement tax provisions, identifying uncertain tax positions, evaluating valuation allowances, implementing purchase accounting, and preparing financial statement disclosures for both public and private enterprises. Additionally, she leads large consolidated federal and multistate corporate tax compliance projects and related tax consulting, particularly for businesses under private equity ownership or foreign control.
Ellen represents clients in IRS and multistate income tax audits and advises on buy/sell due diligence projects, addressing tax implications in acquisitions and divestitures. Her expertise also extends to bankruptcy restructuring tax matters.
Before joining Andersen, she worked at KPMG, where she completed a foreign office rotational assignment.
