Arindam Ghosh has spent three decades in the energy sector, with a background in electrical engineering, and possesses strong analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills. He has taken the lead in several performance improvement projects in the power sector and has a strong track record in leveraging best practices and information technology to develop and deliver comprehensive solutions aligned with overall business strategy. He has experience in managing complex projects, integrating multiple streams of solutions, and aligning them with overall business objectives.
He has assisted several power utilities in India in reducing their losses and improving their business processes related to metering, billing, and collection using new technologies like metering systems and communication technologies to implement solutions such as AMR. Arindam has also been involved in developing bespoke solutions for power utilities, including: i) revenue improvement and assurance solutions to control power theft and reduce losses, ii) targeting tools using forensic data analytics to generate exception reports, iii) energy billing solutions for multi-buyer and multi-seller markets, iv) automated metering for smart grids using metering and telecommunication technologies. Arindam has extensive experience working on projects with different funding agencies and is well-versed in their processes. He has been actively involved in all major power sector reform projects in India.
Some of his key projects are as follows:
- Developing an ICT Strategy and ICT Roadmap for the Department of Power and advising them on their digitization journey by enhancing the customer experience through apps and tools (2020–21)
- Developing an IT Strategy and procuring an ERP and CIS (Customer Information System) solution, including developing the functional requirements for an MDMS (Meter Data Management System) (2017–19)
- Developing an IT Strategy and providing capacity-building and hand-holding support in implementing an ERP and billing solution (2014–16)
- Developing the first-ever Energy Billing Centre (EBC) in India in Odisha and later implementing a similar solution in Andhra Pradesh
