Joe Chan

Prior to joining Andersen in Mauritius and Andersen in Seychelles in 2006, Joe held key positions within the large taxpayers department (in which he was part of the setting-up team) and income tax department for 13 years.

During that time, he has investigated major cases of tax evasion and conducted many cases at the Tax Appeal Tribunal where the amount of tax involved was very substantial.

At Andersen, Joe advises on tax planning and compliance as well as undertakes advisory assignments for a wide portfolio of clients comprising large corporates, public interest entities, companies operating under the global business framework and listed companies.

He also advises on tax structuring matters for large multinationals and has written a number of tax opinions on multiple tax issues.

Joe shares an excellent working relationship with the Mauritius Revenue Authority and deals with them on a regular basis for cases under investigation.
