Víctor Barrio is a partner in the tax department at Andersen in Spain’s Madrid office.
He has more than 20 years of experience advising national and international clients, with a special focus on tax litigation and in-depth knowledge of satellite and telecommunications regulatory law.
He specialises in defending and representing taxpayers in all types of tax proceedings—management, inspection and collection—both in administrative proceedings and in contentious-administrative jurisdiction. Throughout his career, he has been involved in proceedings before national bodies, including the Constitutional Court, as well as before international bodies, such as the Court of Justice of the European Union. He also has solid experience in collection proceedings, including requests for suspension, deferral and debt installment plans.
In the field of space law, Victor is Vice-President of the Spanish Association of Aeronautical and Space Law (AEDAE) and a member of the International Association for the Advancement of Space Safety. He combines his professional activity with teaching at the Judicial School, the Master's Degree in Taxation at the Garrigues Study Centre and the Specialist Course in Aviation and Space Law at ICADE, as well as regularly participating as a speaker at seminars and specialised conferences.
