With over 25 years as a Chartered Accountant, Mike brings extensive expertise in public practice, strategic advisory, and business advisory. After graduating from Auckland University of Technology in 2000, he quickly rose to Associate Principal at a medium-sized Auckland firm. In 2012, Mike joined Bellingham Wallace (now Andersen in New Zealand), sharing Matt Bellingham and Aaron Wallace’s drive to deliver exceptional business advice that creates lasting value for clients.
Mike’s advisory expertise spans restructuring, feasibility studies, governance, succession planning, and strategic reviews. Known for simplifying complex issues, he helps businesses overcome challenges and empowers management teams to achieve sustainable growth.
As lead for the governance division at Andersen New Zealand, Mike serves on advisory boards across the services, construction, energy, technology, and retail sectors. He is passionate about resolving strategic and governance challenges that hold businesses back, bringing his humour and sharp thinking to every endeavour.
A sought-after presenter, Mike shares his insights with organisations like The Icehouse and of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), where he facilitates public practice workshops.
Outside of work, Mike is a Fellow of CAANZ, a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors, and holds leadership roles with Pinehurst School and the North Harbour Club & Charitable Trust.
In his downtime, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife, Andree, and their 2 teenage girls. Mike enjoys travelling and sports, specifically basketball, or enduring a round of golf.
